Circular Steel comes to the United States as a sub-conference within NASCC: The Steel Conference. Half a day, curated, with the engineers, fabricators, service centres and clients who would actually have to make steel reuse work already in the building.
Circular Steel USA 2027, organized by Circular Steel and hosted by AISC, runs from 08:00 to 14:30 on Tuesday 13 April, with coffee and check-in from 08:00, the programme from 08:30 and a catered lunch in the middle. It sits ahead of the main NASCC programme, which runs from 14 to 16 April.
Why inside NASCC
Steel reuse does not fail for want of enthusiasm. It fails in the gap between the people who want it and the people who would have to do it. NASCC brings more than seven thousand of the second group into one convention centre. Holding Circular Steel inside it means the conversation happens in front of fabricators, service centres and engineers rather than at a safe distance from them.
The story so far
Circular Steel has run in London every year since 2022. It came to the United States for the first time in November 2025, as a workshop in Miami. Denver is the next step, and a considerably bigger one.
What to expect
Curated sessions rather than a lecture series, built around what people are actually doing. Case studies with real numbers. Time to talk rather than a packed running order.
The programme is developed jointly by Circular Steel and AISC and will be published closer to the date.
Afterwards, AISC's Sustainability Committee meets in the same building and there is a joint evening social. Circular Steel attendees are welcome at the evening social, which makes 13 April a full day for anyone interested in this subject.
Who it's for
Engineers and architects working out whether reuse is possible on a live project. Fabricators and service centres deciding whether it is worth handling. Clients and developers asking what it costs and what it saves. Anyone who has been asked about reused steel and did not have a good answer.
AISC expect a room of around sixty, split roughly evenly between designers, the steel industry, and people working on the circular economy - their estimate rather than a promise.
Attending
Registration for Circular Steel USA 2027 runs through the NASCC registration site and is free. You can register for the Circular Steel morning on its own without attending the rest of the conference, or add it to a full NASCC registration if you are there for the week.
Registration opens in early 2027 - get in touch and we'll let you know.
Speaking
We are building the programme through late 2026. If you have a project, a dataset, a failure worth talking about or a view worth arguing with, get in touch. Case studies with real costs and real obstacles are more useful than polished conclusions.
Sponsorship
A small number of sponsors support Circular Steel USA 2027. It is how the event gets made, and it is a way for firms doing serious work on reuse to be visibly part of it in the American market.
Three tiers are available. Sponsorship is arranged by Circular Steel and is subject to AISC's approval.
The wider 2027 programme
Circular Steel USA 2027 is one of three things happening next year. Circular Steel UK 2027 takes place in London on 23 June, and the first edition of the Steel Reuse Playbook is due in the first quarter of the year. They are separate but connected, and firms sometimes support more than one.
