As a founding member of the Climate Group #SteelZero initiative, Bourne Group are committed to minimising negative environmental impact and ensuring projects they manage endorse their forward-thinking principles and practices. Bourne Group have an approved SBTi target for our scope 1 & 2 emissions reductions in line with our published carbon reduction plan. We are also Gold members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCHOL), as well as Gold Standard members of the BCSA Steel Construction Sustainability Charter.
Bourne Group are committed to using all available pathways, plus developing new ones, to reduce embodied carbon in the structures that we build. Whether this be through support of the #SteelZero initiative to place demand calls on producers to decarbonise their raw steel products, optimising designs to reduce waste and promote DfMA solutions or to facilitate practical re-use of structural steel materials. All of which rely on early engagement and collaboration with the whole value chain. We actively carry out CPD sessions to educate stakeholders on the benefits of low-carbon steel options.
Circular Steel is the ideal forum to share and gain knowledge, address concerns and find solutions for our shared carbon reduction goals.
